Mike Hunigan serves as VP of AI at Nerdy, where he is responsible for developing new AI-first initiatives that will transform how the company delivers educational experiences. In this role, Mike leads the strategic development and implementation of cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions designed to enhance learning outcomes and create innovative educational products. Prior to joining Nerdy, Mike spent nearly six years at Capacity, where he progressed through multiple leadership roles including SVP of Product, AI and VP of Product. During his tenure, Mike played a key role in the company's rapid expansion while leading the development of AI-powered automation solutions for customer support.
Before joining Capacity, Mike served as VP of Product & Design at Answers, where he led product development and design initiatives. Throughout his career, Mike has specialized in leveraging technology to solve complex problems and improve user experiences, with particular expertise in AI product development, user experience design, and product management. Mike is based in the Greater St. Louis area.Monica Hans is the Vice President of HR Business Partnerships at Nerdy. With more than two decades of experience in human resources leadership, Monica has built a reputation for aligning people strategies with business growth in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Before joining Nerdy, Monica built a Human Resources consulting practice at Collaborative Strategies where she developed HR strategies for privately owned businesses ranging from $5M-$800M. Monica was also the Vice President, Human Resources at Caleres, a $3B footwear company, leading the HR Business Partner and Talent Strategy functions.
Monica holds an M.A. in Human Resources Management from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.A. in Justice from American University. She is Vice President of the Board for Gateway to Hope and resides in the St. Louis with her husband Matt and daughter, Audrey.
